One of India’s most reputed and esteemed film banners, Mukta Arts Limited has taken a huge leap to cater to cinema fans of the Kingdom of Bahrain with launch of Mukta A2 Cinemas’ first 6 screen luxury cinema in Juffair Mall.

Mukta A2 Cinemas, is set to create a benchmark, after signing with VKL Group, to become the first Indian exhibitor to set up and operate its cinema, and at the same time establish its foot hold abroad with the launch of its property in Juffair Mall. The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) has played an important role in supporting Mukta A2 Cinemas opening their first location in Bahrain.

A press conference to announce the opening was held last week (Thursday 22nd September), where they officially opened their doors to the Bahrain crowd. The Guest of Honour at the event was H.E. Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa, President of HRH the Crown Prince’s Court, Chief Guest for launch was H.E. Mr. Alok Kumar Sinha, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, along with important personalities, Mr. Subash Ghai, Chairman of Mukta Arts Ltd, Mr. Varghese Kurian, Chairman & MD - VKL Group & Al Namal Group, Dr. Simon Galpin, Managing Director of the EDB and a number of VIPs, dignitaries and media representatives.

After creating a mark in India with 43 screens, this is truly a huge leap on capturing the Middle East audience. Mr. Subhash Ghai, Chairman of Mukta Arts Ltd and Mr. Rahul Puri, Managing Director, Mukta Arts Pvt Ltd, announced the launch of Mukta A2 Cinemas’ first 6 screen luxury cinema in Juffair.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Subhash Ghai, Chairman of Mukta Arts Ltd said, “It is a matter of huge pride that Mukta A2 Cinemas has opened its first property outside India in Bahrain. We are one of the first Indian exhibitors to design, conceptualize and build a theatre in a foreign country and it is a testament to the entire team and their hard work. Mr. Rahul Puri, Managing Director, Mukta Arts Pvt Ltd further added, “The company has worked really hard to achieve this milestone. The team has worked really hard to ensure we have met international standards of quality with this cinema and we will match these global standards in our delivery every single day to the patrons. It’s the first of a larger plan for Mukta A2 in the Gulf region and more such properties will be on the horizon.”

It is worth noting that Mukta A2 Cinemas has signed a long term lease with VKL Group to have its property in Juffair Mall. In the effort to deliver high quality product, the cinema has entered into strategic partnerships with market leaders such as Coca cola to be the exclusive beverage partner of the property and Awan media for its exclusive in-cinema branding rights.

The new cinema is a six screen multiplex with a total seating capacity of 960 persons. The theatre will feature the latest releases from Hollywood, Arabic and Bollywood. For an alluring movie experience, the cinema is equipped with state-of-the-art technology like the renowned Dolby Atmos and Quantum Logic 3D surround sound systems, Light Tripler polarization 3D technology and modern projection system. The cinema also offers dynamic seating options such as VIP recliners, sofas and rocker seats, in addition to the variety of gourmet food & beverage options, providing patrons with service on seat facilities for a more personalized experience.
